Curious...

 

To raise the fuel pressure. For most bolt-on cars, completely useless as there is no need for it.

 

Unless you need to tune your car, turbo or NA built then you dont need one. Unless you like wasting money.

He's correct. I'm not bandwagoning, just letting you know it's not just some random opinion.

 

They're pretty in a "I just paid money for something that doesn't do ****!" kinda way

 

if your car is built, then it can help. on a stock car, it will work the same as stock and look pretty. its like a cam gear, weld on muffler, or battery hold down.....its pretty useless without other parts, and works the same as OEM on a car with just bolt ons....

 

So raising the fuel pressure on a stock car wont do anything....but if i boost it, then it does matter. Whys that

 

because i stock engine doesn't require anymore fuel to burn?

 

You dont need one unless youu trying to get more power out of you injectors then there made for. Yes you can raise the pressue to get some more fuel, but it will decrease injector duty cycle which is not a good thing.

This is for any motor, Turbo or not.

If you need more fuel get bigger injectors.

since we're on this topic, and my question will probably help the OP as well.

I bought a d16z6, has aftermarket intake and header, port n polished, and has .001(i thnk) milled off the head. it has a AEM FPR and AEM rail, with larger injectors.

is all that completely pointless or not?

if it is im making money off it selling, if not, ill keep it.

Raising the fuel pressure alone is not the proper way to tune. I don't care if you're turbo or what.

On the other hand, you could just bump the pressure up to the high side of spec The ECU can still compensate and keep you running a good AFR, and you wouldn't choke the motor under heavy load if you have some pretty serious bolt ons.

yes i did, thats why iasked, mine does have bigger injectors.

i just wanna know if its pointless or not. cause if it is i have someone who wants to trade stockers plus cash.. and since i didnt put this stuff on the other motor, i dont mind selling it

 

if you already have it just keep it.

your not going to get that much for them, and they do look good.

im not going to lie, i have myself, but that's because the stock one took a dump, and if i gotta replace something i never buy stock

On a stock motor, honda set everything where it is for a reason. Now if you start to add air, or force it, more air means you need more fuel. Or you will run lean. And we know what happends when you run lean.

 

IMO, they are a not worth it. Tune it the right way, with the proper size injectors, and management.

 

Why is it "bad" to bump up fuel pressure. I dont see how thats the 'improper' way

 

The benefit? You can brag about the rediculously awesome color it's painted that completely contrasts the engine when you pop the hood.

PS: It just makes your engine LOOK like it's powerful. Like the empty can of nitrous in the trunk that has a hose hanging into the spare tire well :-P.
