Default How do you get your intake manifold gasket off?

I took off my manifold today and after wards tried to go and take off my intake manifold gasket and it wouldnt budge. It's like its part of the head or something. Its breaking off in tiny pieces. Can someone please tell me how to get it off easy? Some type of solution? Thank you.

so far the only way i know that works is a razor blade and lots of hours of boring anoying labor.....

if someone knows a better way please post.. i hate doing it...

though when you replace the intake gasket get one of the aftermarket solid piece ones which will never get stuck on you or put silocone on the new stock gasket and it wont get stuck in the future... but that first time you take it off is a bitch...

I remove all of the intake manifold studs first.

Then I use gasket remover spray (available at Autozone) and a razor blade for the large chunks.

Then I finish it off with a right-angle die grinder with a rubber abrasive pad. I forget what they're called, but I'll look it up in the Mac Tools catalog tonight. They make three or four levels of coarseness that they ID by color. I have a medium coarseness pad that's green. Yellow is the softest and what I would recommend for aluminum. The green works fine, but I have to be a little more gentle with it.

Just spray some of that gasket remover, and start scraping with whatever you can get you hands hand. Make sure you cover the intake ports, you wouldn't want any of that **** going into your motor. If you are going to replace your head gasket make sure its a hondata one, (Reduces temp) it costs about $40.00

corrected for you. tons of people make the hondata style intake manifold gasket now. i think hondata is actually 60 bucks and some other people sell theirs for 40-50. i'd check passwordjdm.
