vtec solenoid and map sensor problems- ls swap in a 5th gen
i have a ls in a 92 hatch dx, running a socketed p28 ecu and uberdata. i have vtec disabled in ud. however, i constantly throw a code 21 for the vtec spool solenoid. i also have the funky 2 sets of map sensor wires (one on my ls harness, the other is an independent 3 wire plug that goes directly to the firewall, and so sometimes i throw a code 7 for the map sensor. is there any way i can bypass the vtec solenoid, like jumper a coupld of wires or wire in a reisistor to make the code go away? or is there another reason for the code that i'm overlooking? i have the correct amount of oil, which is all i could find in my search that could also cause the problem.
i would say teh code 21 is an Uberdata problem, Have you considered using Crome? I have had far better results with it.
as far as teh map sensor...if it was me i would jjust leave the one on teh firewall plugged in with the electrical connector AND the vacuum tube, and leave teh one on the throttle body there.

Unless you have ls vtec, then your LS engine doesn't have vtec. Also, ur code 7 is not the map but the tps sensor. Make sure you have both the map sensor and tps plugged in to the right sensor. If ur LS engine does have vtec, first off test and make sure the wire going to the vtec solenoid is connected all the from the solenoid to the right pin on the ecu.
its a straight ls motor, no vtec. i have used crome, which also does not work. and when i mess with the map sensors, it throws code 7, but im not touching the tps, which is strange.
If u have an Ls engine that u don't have vtec so don't worry about the code 21. As far as the tps code, make sure u have the correct connectors on the correct sensors, it happens to alot of ppl, even happened to me, if u're not sure just switch the tps and map connectors and see if the code goes away, make sure to reset ur ecu each time too so the codes don't keep popping back up if u get it right.

the code still messes with my ability to tune, and it still adds fuel and pulls timing. for some strange reason, i reburned and resaved my map in crome 3 times, and finally on the 3rd time the cel went away, and so far has been gone for about 50 miles of driving, so hopefully it doesnt come back. as for the tps, it was the wrong wiring, and by having the 2 map sensors wired up, they must put out similar signals, which is why i only had an intermittent cel for it. thanks for the help guys.
