ok so ive heard that jdm motors cant be traced?? is that true. i can get a deal on a jdm b20 block but he doesnt have papers for the motor. so are they traceable? thanks in advance

 

They should have a engine serial number on them. You should be able to trace it through that.

 

well i just herd that since they were imported from japan they cant be reported stolen cause they cant be traced

If you have to ask you know the motor is stolen or at least suspect. Just buy something else if that is the case. JDM motors have a serial number on them and if the previous owner reported it it can be traced.

 

They can be traced but not the way they do the newer blocks here. I believe JDM motors dont have VINs for there newer blocks like they do here in the US. So you cant run a simple carfax like you would. But all blocks and motors have a serial number to ID them.
