Tech Info Needed - 96-98 Civic LX to Civic EX Front Brake Upgrade
I've been reading old posts for over an hour today trying to figure out what the cheapest and easiest brake upgrade option is for my 96 Civic LX Sedan. I've read about Legend calipers, Integra Calipers, EX front knuckles, grinding brackets, using shims, redrilling rotors, suspension geometry etc etc.
What's the real deal on how to upgrade from LX rotors and calipers to EX rotors and calipers? Since I have a B16 with Integra LS axles, will that complicate things? What parts do I need so that I don't need to grind, cut, and shim things? I can't just buy the rotors, brackets, and calipers?

you need the bigger knuckles...from any Civic with ABS or Integra(ABS or non)...this will give you the 10.2" front brakes. All calipers bolt up the same to the knuckles, but the spacing will be different. Once you have those knuckles..you can run the stock calipers/pads, or go with a ITR hybrid or Legend, etc, as these are the base knuckles to work with.
So if for example I get a pair of non-ABS Integra LS knuckles, they will bolt right onto my car without any modification?
My 2nd question then would be: once I get the knuckles installed how do I make the Legend 2 piston/11in rotor combo work?
