Default so slow, why?

ok my friend has a 95 accord(4 dooor)4cyn. lx automatic 130hpstock and my other friend has a 99 hb civic 1.6 106hp stick they raced ok, they civic took off at the start but when they hit about 55-60 the accord started to catch up and about 85-90 the acoord was gone so why did they make the 99hb so slow? (the hb had exhaust tip and and a autozone intake) did the hb have a chance? thanks

106 HP manual Civic? Yeah that sounds about right I'd expect the torquey Accord and long ratios would pull in the top end.
I don't know why such a fuss is made about HP. I've been comparing a few racecar dyno charts and after the race results it really seems that most of the time, torque is more important than HP, even better is midrange and high torque, which is how most all Hondas are.

i thought that it was the right combination of both that made for a good overall car!

I believe you mean APC, Anyways IMO intake is intake a metal tube w/a cone filter on the end of it, My $45 APC intake works just the same as my friends $75 AEM intake, He just paid an extra $30 for the AEM sticker.

Did I say that? I'm just trying to say you don't always have to go name brand to get results, but I guess this is the wrong board to try and prove that point on

you can prove all you want....but prove = dyno charts...and I highly doubt your gonna supply them...so maybe you should head on back to SHO
