Default Carbing Strut Tower Bar

Now available at http://www.corsportusa.com/sto...=1124 fro $295 shipped.

Does any one have this installed yet? I have only seen a few people actaully talk about this part. If so, was it worth the $300 you spent?

I would think so. It just specified for 06+ Civics. Should include sedan and coupe models I would think. No one qoute me on that though.

I've had one on my Si for a couple of weeks, now, and I wouldn't say it's worth it given the price.

The FG2 chassis is already so stiff that these chassis stiffeners really don't do anything for them. There is a SMALL difference, but not enough of one to justify $300.

If you want a suspension part that gives a GREAT change in the cars handling, pick up a Progress rear sway-bar. Still my favorite part I've installed on my Si by far.

What exactly does the rear sway bar do and how much does it improve cornering.

Thanks for the info. I thought $300 was too much to spend. I was waiting for more companies to come out with a sway bar before buying.

A rear, as well as a front, sway bar reduces the amount of lateral body roll, or "lean", in corners.

A thicker rear sway will be a very good performance suspension mod you can do to your car, usuall for fairly cheap. I got my Progress bar shipped from Dezod for about 160 bucks.

I would suggest beefier endlinks if you plan on dropping the car as well. Alot of stories of popping the OEM endlinks due to the added stress.

Here is a pic of my setup in the rear to show you what I am talking about...

The sliver lower rear tie bar came with the bar as well. Took maybe 45 minutes to install with hand tools.

Eibach = over rated & overpriced.

A set of sportlines for my car, 1.4" drop, 205+shipping. And I don't think they are even progressive springs.

Tein S-Techs, 1.4" drop, 150+ shipping. Plus they are a progressive spring.

Eibach is good, but way too expensive.

I'm not sure about the FG2 but the FG1 sure does need some chassis stiffening.

I have the Progress rear sway bar with Corsport endlinks to help. Car also has a Tanabe 4-point underbrace, Tein S-Tech lowering sprints, and the Carbing strut tower bar. It is a handling MACHINE, but I credit most of that to the sway bar and lowering springs, but all of them did improve it. The car became a much more crisp handling car when I installed the front strut tower bar and endlinks, but I think the endlinks helped the most with that because the OEM ones are rubber garbage.

Either way, this car is a go-kart to the biggest degree and I love every second of it.

Done over again would I buy the Carbing strut tower bar? Yes. Is it completely worth it for the price? Not really, but I would buy it again. It's a nice unit, that's for sure.

Honestly, the FG suspension is plenty stiff from the factory. There is a solid bar in the back that connects both sides, and even when the car is jacked up it held itself up on 3 jackstands with one actually showing an inch of air between the stand and the chassis. ANYONE who says this chassis isn't stiff simply doesn't know what they are talking about after I saw that. I have never seen a car refuse to flex while in the air like that before in my life.

You feel the suspension being soft, not the chassis moving.
