Default GSR w/ JRSC slow as crap?????

I just got a 94 GSR teg with a JRSC in a trade. It was missing real bad so we changed the plugs and it started running better. Then I raced it against my boys Scion TC and got killed. It is boosting and vtec is kicking in but I dont know what the problem is.....

This car has wiring issues but it's just dumb stuff like the fan is wired up ghetto and lil stuff like that... Also my speedo does not work.

This is not my first honda but this is my first boosted one... I need help guys.

Thanks in advance.

Trade back.... a stock GSR should beat a TC, if not hang with it.

What i would do is try to figure out what is wrong with the car and fix it before I start racing it,and race that Scion again and tell us about it IMO Good luck

are you sure VTEC is working.....if your speedometer doesn't work sometimes its the VSS and then it won't run worth a **** and VTEC wont engage. Check the sensor on the top of the tranny and see if its working. Check it with a multimeter to see if there's signal and if its mechanically engaged too.

The VSS popped out on my GSR when i was on my way to the lake and the speedo stopped working, it was slow as **** and no VTEC....

lol you have much to learn..just because hondas have a myriad of dirt cheap fully programable ems's does not mean an afc is crap.

Yes there are much better options out there, but it is certainly not the reason a supercharged gsr lost the a stock TC.

When trying to asses a problem i simply was throwing out a simple suggestion followed with a half serious remark.

You my friend have no idea how far my knowledge extends.

Do you have a boost gauge, maybe the belts slipping. Even with the jr fuel crap, it should still run quite strong.

It may be a good idea to get a factory manual, and run through every wire in the engine bay that has been tampered with. Also, it's always good to get a new belt and perform all of the other basic things, like checking fuel and boost pressure with some gauges. it sounds like the person who owned the car did a hack job and has crippled the Integra as a result. Hondata would also be a good idea.

What clutch is in it? $50 says your clutch is a stocker and is pretty much on it's way out. If you say that VTEC is kicking in and it's not missing, that's the only reason why you shouldn't be able to keep up with a stock TC.
