Default What is the best Cold Air Intake on the market?

I'm shopping for a cold air intake for a 95 Honda Prelude VTEC and I don't know much about them. I know that Injen is a good brand. Which Cold Air intake is the best for HP increase and Cooling Results?

I'd go for the AEM. I've heard that their quality is the best, and performance is a bit hgher too. Its hard to measure true power gains from a CAI since they only result when the car is in motion. I guess the best way to measure this to load a prelude on to a wheel dyno, put the wheel dyno on to a truck, move the truck at the speed the prelude's speedo is indicating, that way you can really simulate the full effect of a CAI. My head hurts just thinking about this.

what would be the down fall of say building your own CAI?

i know jcwhittney.com sells like 180~ degree madrel bent piping.. if you use that and say a filter .. add a sleeve and clap? whats the difference?

As far as I know Comptech doesnt make parts for preludes....so the Icebox would be out of the question. Id reccommend AEM CAI but it does have some fittiment problems.

Do you know if the AEM CAI filter element sits too low to the ground? I'm thinking about getting one for my SH and I was just curious if thats what you meant by fitment problems.

AEM works great on preludes!!!! .... awesome sound .... and improved performance ... definitely worth the $$$ ... whether you have VTEC or not, it will improve performance and look of engine ... but if you have VTEC, AEM CAI is an obvious choice!!! .... after you have installed the CAI and VTEC kicks in, WOW, it's like a different car ...

Definetley the AEM CAI because if you have an SH the AEM is 4" piping just like the Integra Type - R AEM. I'm not sure if the non-SH's have the 4" pipe too. But as far as the best intake for a lude? AEM CAI!

I've heard good things about Injen.

As for building your own.........10$ and a trip to Lowes!
For the ultimate getto look, you can't beat PVC tubing!!!

What I meant was that the CAI doesnt fit in the hole, so you have enlargen it. The support bracket also came nowhere close to lining up.

The piping is 3" (like the type R) not 4"
