Default h22 crank

i need to get oem h22 crank. but i heard the older year model crank has a smaller size journal and the newer has a bigger journal. what year should i get? i want a bigger size journal. also can i get an aftermarket h22 crank like eagle specialties or crower? tia.

Of course you can get aftermarket, but you will pay out your *** for one. Just get an OEM (whichever fits your block) and have it polished and balanced. You could go knife edged if you really want to, but I wouldn't even bother with that.

The H22a crank has been proven fully capable of huge numbers. I wouln't mess with it too much.

What year is your engine?

92-96 h22a1 and 97 h22a4 are the smaller 50mm mains
98 and up h22a4 is 55mm mains

just get the one that goes with your block.

thanks for the reply guys. are the 97 and 98 up share the same rods? are they interchangeable?

I am pretty sire all the H22a rods are interchangeable in sets. Meaning you have to use all 4.
