To Much Timing? Heres My Bin - Built D16a6 SOHC
I recently aparently blew a headgasket so I need some help decifering if it was just a fluke and my head lifted/sleeve shifted or if Im running the right ammount of timing
The car is an 88 crx si, d16a6 motor and trans. SRP 9:1's, eagle rods, y8 gasket copper sprayed, arp head studs @ 75flt/lbs. Crane turbo cam, fererea valvetrain
T3/t04e 57 trim with an open 3" downpipe and dump, I have an adjustable cam gear but its set to stock. 91 octane gas
Running turboedit and a gm 3 bar
I usually drive around and only boost a few pounds partial throttle to beat up on most of the **** in this town. But the max I will run is 15psi
I really dont understand the timing values in turboedit so I dont know what exactly I am running nor if it is safe, I just compared it to other peoples d16a6 maps

you would hear detonation my friend, sounds like 2 spoons.. ting ting ting... Run 94 they have it at sunocos, its only a few pennies more.
Your timing looks like youve got quite a bit of timing pulled.

It is? General rule of thumb with OBD1 D-series is 18* of timing at 10-12psi.

you cant always hear detonation without a listening device. If you can hear it then your detonation is BAD!
Use a knock detecting listening device, pull plugs, take it to the dyno to find MBT, or something. You wont know if your timing is safe until you do one of those things. FYI i've found knock on vtec sohc motors running much less timing than that using knock detection listening devices with safe air/fuel ratios.

I disagree, but t's not agressive either. I don't like seeing jumps of more then a degree and a half between two RPM points here look slike you have 2 or more...can make the car act a little funny or make the dyno graph look strange.
