accord OEM swap
My buddy has a 05 accord lx sedan with the basic FM/AM single disc and recently picked up an external XM radio and LOVES it. Hes planning on keeping the car for a while and would like to have the XM built into the factory radio (hes a real OEM kind of guy). So he would like to swap out the oem head unit for the oem that has the XM built in.
Has anyone else done this?
I have been searching salvage yards online and it seems that a few people have one avalible. So I was wondering what else is involved in this swap? I know that we should need a security key with the new headunit, the xm reciever box that goes in the trunk and the antenna. Anything else?
thanks in advance!

save yourself the headache and go aftermarket. Time you source the parts and buy all the items you could of gotten it cheaper. And you are going to have to use the factory xm ant to make it work. Now thats going to be a pain in the azz to remove. Aftermarket ones don't work with oem.
just in case, does anyone know if it will be possible to buy just the radio in the dash itself or does it have to be that whole center section with the climate control and all? as far as the head unit is concerened
thanks!
thanks!
You could just add this... http://www.soundgate.com/index...rer=1& and give the stock HU an AUX input.
