Noob ?'s
Okay, so im in the process of taking my turbo back and getting a new one, and buying a manifold. Im wondering if a V-band turbo makes anymore power then a regular one (im going with the Garrett GT-R series turbos, either a GT3071 or a GT3076) I have a regular GT3071R right now, but i went to my engine builder and hes telling me that i will only get 380whp at the most with this turbo, and i wanted at least 400whp. So im wondering is it a good idea to trade in my turbo for a GT3076R (has a big *** .60 a/r housing!) and get a Ramhorn style manifold. Or keep what i have right now, and get a Ramhorn manifold and try to get to my goal of 400whp. Btw my car is a 2.2l '00 accord f23a4, 9:1 cp pistons, eagle rods, supertech valves/springs/retainers, sleeved, ect ect.
Definately step up the turbo size! To attain your power levels, as for the v-band, it has slightly better flow characteristics. It's up to you, your goals, and your wallet size.
What do you plan on using the car for? Drag, Street/strip??? This makes a difference also..............

Street and occasionally might see the track. I want it to be as streetable as possible. And im looking for 400whp, at the very most 450whp with race gas. So i would need a 3076 for 400whp? The reason im so hesitant to get that turbo is because the bigger the housing the easier it is to surge, and i want to keep everything working for as long as i can (im hoping years)
