Default Prelude question

I'm interested in purchasing a 98-01 Prelude, but alot of them that catch my eye are all AT and the ones that do have a 5spd have high miles, so my question to you Prelude owners, does it cost a lot to do an AT to 5spd manual conversion, if I were to do it on my own? Let me know thx.

I would take a high mileage 5speed vs a low mileage auto. Autos seem to be the week link in preludes so.. Your also looking at about 2k to do the manual swap over.

no it does not cost alot to do a conversion i know a shop over here that will do it for about 650 but thats over here in cali. if you were to do it yourself it would cost you about 500 depending where you get your parts and how much you pay. akso keep in mind you have to chip you ecu to run the manual tranny

I dont think you can chip a 5th gen ecu you would need to swap it out for a manual ecu, also you need:

Peddle assembally
Manual Tranny
Shift linkage
Shift assembally

If you pick n pull that stuff its still going to cost you over 500...

You sure can chip your auto ecu. Theres a tutorial somewheres on these forums. I did it and it runs fine, no CEL and no pulsing idle.

If I were you though, get a 5spd from the start or you may regret it later like me.
