throwing code 8
I have an 89 crx with a dohc zc swap, My PM6 ecu is throwing code 8 tdc sensor.
My question is what is the purpose of this sensor and does it need replacing right away, car runs fine but considering i don't know what this sensor does i don't wanna break anything lol
can someone enlighten me on this.

Haha, that code was the end of my old engine.
Inside the Dizzy is a magnetic sensor known as the TDC sensor. I don't know how else it could go bad, but mine was due to bad distributor bearings. Everytime the dizzy overheated due to the bad bearings, it would slowly kill the magnet. This, in turn killed the sensor and it threw a code 8.
You can't just replace the sensor, unfortunately, you have to get a whole new dizzy.
I opted to get a whole new motor as the D15B1 was a peice of ****.
