I have a 98 honda civic HX, 5speed d16 with headers/exhaust/CAI. When I press the gas ALL the way down(runs fine untill full throttle) the motor bogs then cuts off and wont start back up for about a minute, like its flooded. It does this in any gear at any RPM. The only problems I have had with this car is, one day i was spraying the motor off and i got water in the spark plugs and the car was bogged down alot but still drivable, I took it home and parked it till it dried out. And another time I was driving in heavy rain and it just cut off, im guess water in the intake, It wouldnt start for about 15 mins and then i started it with the gas pushed all the way down and it was fine after that. It didnt start doing what its doing right now imediatly after those two incidents so maybe they have nothing to do with it. Any ideas what it might be, and what to try first??

Do you have any CEL(Check Engine Light) codes?

 

the check engine light is not on, I havent had it checked to see if its throwing any codes yet though.
