should i replace both halfshafts? my drivers side boot is completely done this is an issue that i know needs attention quick.

 

dont fix what aint broken... just fix the one with the busted boot and actually replace the axle dont just put a new boot on it

If the boot is all that is bad why don't you just replace the booot? No sense in trashing a good shaft because a boot ripped.

 

well its already lost all the lube... and by the time you get to the boot you have already taken the half shaft out you mise well just put a new one in after all that work

 

Nobody in there right mind would waste the time to remove the axle to just change the boot. The axle cost less then $60.00. If you know someone you can get them for less then that.

If I were going to change one for the first time, this time of year. I would consider changing both, if they have never been chaged before. Winter is coming. I won't take the chance that the other will make it through Winter. Do you feel like chaning one in say January?
