Hatchback Vs Coupe
I have a hatchback right now and I mite get another car. I was wondering if I should get another hatchback or coupe. this is for the 96-00 civic. Mainly wondering which one handles better?
coupe. simply because it's longer by about 2 ft.
pfffff. it dosen't matter.

But personally if you had a hatch already, why would you get another one?

Yeah he's dumb :-P - at least if he's referring to 96+
IMO, if you're going 96-00 styles, I'd go with a coupe opposed to a hatch. I think the 96-00 hatches are extremely ugly, although the 92-95 hatches are probably my favorite (I have a coupe though, thought that was my favorite at the time :-P)
The hatch's lighter by like 200lbs or something small like that (I"m sure somebody's gonna bring out the exact weight stats to proove me wrong but whatever).
Obviously the coupe's better in the snow because it has a longer wheel base (I'm sure there's at least one dick who will try to argue this point as well...but low and behold, shorter wheel bases create more likliness to spin or slide sideways...just think about it for a minute, before you even apply the physics of it....)...which means it's also better on ground (less chance of understeer slide I suppose is what you would call it). So the suspensions being equal, you probably have a bit more control with a coupe simply because of it's wheel length. (now c'mon, I know there's somebody on here that's going to say "wheel length doesn't make a difference"
*sigh*

I'm with Instrument and R.Kelley, EK hatches look cooler than coupes and most definately better than EG hatches.
In terms of handling between the two I think they are different enough to notice if you're gonna be putting on some aftermarket suspension. The wheel and tires you get will make a large difference in handling as well, probably just as important as what suspension you decide to get. They're both double wishbone all around so I guess just go with whatever you prefer or with whichever comes as a better deal to you.

Well I have had both, from my experience the coupe handles much better.
But I really miss my hatch, it was totaled thanksgiving day 2004.
Here are some pics, they may be a lil ricey but whatever it was my first honda and I got it back from paint and it got totaled the same day

IMO, from personal experience, roll with the Sol. Most rigid body in the EG and EK world, barely weighs more than an EG hatch, and the looks, come on now, it's a del Sol, its HOTTNESS!!! (just imo). Buddy Club N+ Damper +15/7 Falken Azenis RT-615's= .84g skidpad on roadsettings, 1.12 turned all the way up, full interior. just give it a try, the VTEC trim (b16s) go for around $4500-5000 these days.
I may be biased, but I love my Coupe
..92-95 are the best IMO!!
Plus aren't coupes more aerodynamic versus the hatchback brother?
I also have a hatch here in Japan, but it's an auto 1.3L carb'd!
