Type SH headers vs. DC sport headers
I heard the specs on the 5th Gen Type SH headers and the DC SPort headers are pretty close. I guess the main question is, Is it worth buying DC sport headers to replace the SH headers. What u guys think?
i heard that they are pretty close too ... i was told that there is an improvement, but not noticeable ... and not worth the $$$ ... the headers aren't a huge cost, but the labour is!!! ... it's not something you can do in an hour or 2 ... it's a lengthy process!!! ... anyhow, my opinion is that it's not worth it ... and for those who aren't SH, i think the SH and base headers are the same ... but not sure on that one ...

The DC headers are "Suppose" to give you a mid range improvement over stock. But i have not heard anyone seeing thse improvement. The Sh header is the same the B pipe is different due to the ATTS unit.
Bottom line Not worth it.
Just get a Type S motor

A DC header isnt worth it but spending $4000+ on a Type S motor for 17hp is worth it?

the dc sports header is basically just a bit better design of stock. if you compare them, they're almost identical in design. it flows a bit better but that's about it.
for those like me who have their flex joints break, it's the best and cheapest option.
and it doesn't take long at all for labor. it won't cost you an arm and leg.
all you do is unbolt the a-pipe, unscrew the o2 sensor, unbolt the 3-4 bolts holding the top and lower sections. then take off the header heat shield and the bolts to the head. that's it. takes no more then an hour even the first time around.

well a DC header will look better than the stock header in your engine bay. so in that respect they're better. but like everyone else has said, gainswise, very negligible if any. it's already a well-designed header.

Do they offer the JDM DC's for preludes yet? thats the only DC header i'd touch with a 10 foot pole.
I did not think that DC Sports even distributed parts in Japan...

i think he's talking about the DC JDM header from the JDM ITR. DC basically makes a copy of the JDM ITR header. No its not out for the prelude, because it was meant to work on B series motors.
And what u can do to make more power out of a DC is have the collector modified to a 2.5 in collector and get a 2.5in test pipe or carsound cat. That will make some more power. I already modified my header, now its time to make my test pipe.
