Fog light help
I have a 98 dx hatch and I have some fog lights on it. The one on the driver's side burned out the other day and I tried replacing the bulb, but that did not work. I tested for voltage on the wires that hook up to the light and did not get anyting. Does anyone know where I can look next to see what the problem is? Could it be a fuse or something?
find your fog light relay and make sure when it is on you have voltage on both sets of contacts!
if you Do then its in the wiring and if you dont then its you relay

Yeah I'm trying to find that relay, but im having no luck with that. I followed the wire back from the fog light and it goes through the engine bay and it goes into a hole with the wires that hook up to the head light. The wires than end up going under the fender, and I dont know where they go from there. Should I take my wheel off and and take out the plastic covering and then look to see where the rest of the wire goes? or is the relay usually inside the car. Also, keep in mind that my fog lights arnt hooked up to a switch. They just come on when I turn on my head lights.

I checked all around the fuse box. It is no where to be seen. Can it be in any other location? The wires for my fog lights go through the the fenders and then I don't know where they go from there.
Nope I didn't find it. That turned out to be something else. I looked all around the fuse box and behind my glove box, and through the engine bay. I am positve that it is not in any of the locations I have looked.

You've got one ghetto installation, real rats nest. DEPO kit or Autozone Special, I presume? My solution to you, get some OEM fogs or an ESUSE kit from Vertex Racing.
They are DEPO fog lights(otherwise known as piece of **** chinese fog lights). No I did not install them, and that could be the reason i am having so much trouble with them.
Without knowing what the original installer did, or how well he did it, it's tough to say what the issue could be. My first thought is a loose connection somewhere, since you've stated that the other light is working fine. If you're unable to trace back the wiring, your best bet may be to simply re-wire them yourself.
if i were you i have depot fogs on my 94 the relay is attached to a wire that comes directly from the battery. mine is about where the stock air filter should be, i hope this helps

No, he's thinking of the relay.
Tealeg88, is there a foglight switch in your car? Were you able to turn the foglights on or off using the switch? You only mentioned that they turn on whenever the headlights turn on. That's why I'm wondering if maybe they were t-tapped into the headlight wires.

Really? Because every depo kit i've ever seen has an inline fuse that clips onto the shock tower near the battery, and then a relay that you put with a ground under the dash.

Must be a 92-95 thing. You have the 96-98 right? On mine I have the relay around the stock airbox area. On my prior set, which was by Esuse, the relay was under the dash.
I was under the impression the Depo harnesses were the same across the 92-00 years.

No there is no switch for the fog lights. I was thinking they are tapped into the headlight wires too because the wires connecting the fogs sneak back in with the headlight wires through the fender. Does that mean there is still a relay? And what does a relay exactly do, I never really got that?

If there is a relay, you should hear a clicking sound whenever the foglights are turned on/off.
However, I don't remember if the relay will still click if the foglight bulbs are burned out.
