Is the Acura RSX Type-S Governed?
Okay i was kinda racing my friend yesterday, and i couldnt go past like 110, i think cuz i was pushing it and it was going slowly to 110, but isnt it susposed to go much faster quickly? i was in 6th gear but damn. I just stayed around 100. Also when i am in neutral stopped, i can't rev up past 6k rpm. it is wierd. So does anyone know what is wrong, or is that just normal?

lol, you were.. mashing the pedal in 6th gear for acceleration.. lol
btw 110 should be near the end of 4th gear :/

Well, first of all...
It can't rev up passed 5500 or near that range because that's when Vtec kicks in..
So if you were reving it at neutral and couldn't pass it, it's made to do it!
You can do rev it up to redline if you're at a roll, but that would be stupid anyway.
And don't be stupid to go 100 in 6th gear trying to max out your speed LOL
Last time I heard, I though Type S top speed was 145.

not true. the base rsx and the type s do NOT have limiters. the only thing limiting them is wind resistence and gearing.

I can vouch for sleepin02rsx. At a minimum I can garauntee you that 02 Type S' are not governed. You can take it all the way to 160. Someone correct me if I wrong but I think my actual mph shift points were:
1 - 40
2 - 65
3 - 80
4 - 115
5 -140
6- 160
All of these were obviously at 7400rpm.
I've only done it a few times but will never do it. Cruising along any stretch of road doing 100+ mph is bad enough. 160mph is the fastest I've been and it's just to f-ing creepy. It seems like the amount of things that can go horribly wrong grows exponentially with each mph increase.
I've already proven it for you. Don't go 160.

I've hit around 137-8 on a base 5speed.

I obviously didn't have the window down but I'm sure it wasn't because of a gush of wind. The only thing I could tell you is that it was on I-20 and there were tall trees all the way down on each side of the highway.

my type s stops at 130mph it still has power to it but it wont clime no further. but it has been on the bottle before in the past with 2fuel pumps to stop it from leaning out but its been past 160 we ruffed estimated it at a lil over 170 maybe closer to 180 on 75shot nitrous
from what i remember on a type-s mid 150's was reachable. i remember that because a stock rsx-s and a stock srt-4 raced on I-485 in charlotte a while back and they both topped out there cars. the srt-4 is electronically limited at 154 and the type-s was creeping up slowly.
We have to take a stand against unsafe activities that are clearly being undertaken on public roads.
