Default anyone ever pull out a iat sensor that was melted on the end?

anyone ever pull out a iat sensor that was melted on the end? i have a 1994 gsr and Im getting a cel code 10 so I took out the iat and the end was melted almost like a short. by end i mean the furthest inside the intake manifold. Im wondering what possible areas a short could be at if it is indeed a short. the air shouldnt melt it right? let me know thanks.

This happens when people accidentally swap the IAT and the evap purge solenoid plugs.

I think I found the evap purge solenoid but not sure. it has a bright green circular connector that will also fit on the IAT sensor. how am I supposed to tell which wires go where on these sensors? they both have 2 wires each.

MOST OF THE TIME the evap purge has a red and a yellow/black wire.

are you sure the EVAP PURGE wires are red/yellow-black??? If they are then they were indeed reversed.

well, i replaced the map sensor, iat sensor, fixed the reversed wires to the evap purge and iat and the frickn car still wont idle right or accelerate even at full gas!

hey rwdelsol (rear wheel drive???) what kind of problems you having with your car? mine has a 94 gsr engine in it and was running fine for about 2 weeks(open header) it started with bad acceleration, and then hardly enough to move at a walking pace. i hope there is no damage to the engine. the only code Im reading is a constant 10. and I replaced the iat sensor already and reset the ecu by unplugging it and waiting a few minutes and then still the same crappy code and crappy engine performance. is it possible to warp the heads on the engine from being open header or having a fried iat sensor that was mixed up with the evap purge?

(oh and the wire group with yellow/black goes to the evap purge rwdelsol.) and I think(not much else to screw it up with) the 2 wires red/black go to the iat.
