Default alignment help!

hey guys i jux got back from good year for them to do my alignment. they charged me 240 bukks. i was like o shiet. they said they had to add a camber kit becuz i damaged the old one so bad? so they do it and i drive the car. the car drives straight now but it feels kinda rough. maybe its me. the wheel is still pushed back alittle tho. is this safe or normal? can sum1 post their wheel up.

the side i curbed. notice that it is alittle bit pushed back compared to the other side.

the good side.

before

front of wheel

back of wheel

ok i took out the control n it seemed that that was the only thing messed up. im praying thats the only thing.

$240??? Jeezus.....well it looks ok from the pictures.....does it pull while driving or anything? because for 240 bucks id be bringing it back everyday until they made it stop pulling...did you have a honda dealer do it? or did you take it somewhere else?

It still looks a bit pushed back from what I can tell. Perhaps a bent shock or balljoint?

$249 and it SHOULD have been a lifetime alignment coming from Goodyear.

If not, call their local HQ and ask them.

most of the cost was the labor. LABOR WAS 90 bukks!

Get your fingers and go from the right side of the wheel to the fender ( where the munflap would be and measure. If the good side fits three fingers snugly and the bad side fits two fingers than something is bent, most likely its the lower control arm. Suspension is a tricky area and I have done hundreds of alignments where nothing looked bent until I did the measurements. A four wheel alignment usually runs roughly $75 to $100 give or take plus you have to factor in the camber kit so with all said and done it sounds about right with labor and all.

Here is an easy way to check to see if the strut rod ( the piece that goes in and out of the strut ) is bent. First pop the hood and go to the upper hat of the strut. Loosen the center nut probobly a 17mm. Just crack it loose, next there should be an allen key hole in the center shaft of the strut in the middle of the nut you loosened. Put an allen in there and turn it. this procedure rotates the shaft inside the strut and while doing it look at the wheel. If the wheel moves in and out in any way than the strut is bad. You may also have a bend even if the wheel does not move but this is an easy way of checking the strut without removing any parts. Hope this helps.

Just pop the hood and do it with the car on the ground and the wheels pointed straight ahead.

ok so i went to the dealer today to see if they could look at my car. but they were closed. grr i forgot. but so i look at another 2dr coupe ex. the gap of the wheel was the same as mines. so im guessing its normal. i stuck my fingers inbetween the wheel and the fender and its the same as mine. so i guess its normal for the civics. ANOTHER PROBLEMM!! ok so i try to punch it. i didnt drag lunch it i jux went up to 8k and shift. and when i shifted i heard a loud thump. i got a heartattack n pulled over. i didnt kno wat it was. the car drove the same and i couldnt see if anything was wrong with it. drove it home normally.
anybody have this problem? im panicing man...... im hoping this is a common problem somwhere

could have probably hit something, a pothole or thing and didn't realize it, since you were worried about your car when you heard the noice.

nooo no pot hole. i knew where i was. ok ive figured that i might have a bent strut becuz the ride is sumwat rough so i did a test. i jacked up the left side of the car to see if the shock would go in but it didnt want to go in. it seems like it is stuck or sumthin. would u think the dealer would change this under warrenty?

Not really sure. I would think they would fix it, but your best bet is to call American Honda first. Just to make sure.
