Dyno/Engine Sim?
I'm looking at getting one of these to screw around with. Obviously I don't need a pro version but what are you guys using?
I found a copy of Desktop Dyno2000 but it seems pretty much geared towards V8s.

I know this is an old post but i use dynosim SC advanced. its really the only one u can use for hondas the standard sims do not allow for a small enough bore from what i recall. also its kinda hard to just screw around u need to know a lot of data to get accurate results, has more bseries data built in than dseries. but if u really want it proracingsim.com is having some made sales right now

Nah, that just means you need to be smarter.
The sims work best when you have good information. Having parts and a mic are very helpful.
I use a old version of engine analyzer from performance trends.

Bringing this back from the dead.
Ive been thinking of purchasing an engine sim to play around with and maybe learn alittle something from. I just want something that will allow me to play with some of the basic stuff really(intake plenum/ runner sizing, header sizing, head flow#'s, cams, etc etc.). I looked at some of the ones listed above and the cheap performance trends stuff looks good for what I want. Any other suggestions?

are there any updates since 2008
maybe a free engine simulator?
im not trying to build one from simulator i just want to understand how different parts affect power and torque so i thought even a simple simulator would work as long as it shows changes accurately when engine parameters are tweaked.
and how a combination of parts affects it when replaced at the same time.
