Default what type of oil for SIRII w/ lsd tranny?

W00t first post and I already got issues. I just bought a 95 DX hatch with an SIRII swap and the clutch was toast.

Just did a clutch swap and I lost a ton of my gear oil. It smells like gear oil at least. So I ask AutoZone and Advance Auto what type of oil is used in a 94 DelSol VTEC and a 99 Civic Si and they both came back with 10w30 motor oil. Is that right because what I pulled out of there smells just like gear oil and seems thicker than you typical 10w30?

I personally have only used Honda MTF or Pennzoil Synchromesh. But I have read/heard that using 10W30 works as well...

i've ran all three in many trannies, and torn apart many trannies using all three.
Honda MTF or 10w-30:never saw any signs of premature wear on parts or weird wear.just seems like the MTF shifts a little better and feels a little smoother,so i recommend it-although either works fine.
Syncromesh:some people have used it to get rid of slight shifting grinds and it seems to works.everybody i know that has used it for that reason though has had their tranny develop other problems.they usually look worse overall when torn down.i can't say if it's directly related to the fluid, but i've seen plenty of other people on here have similar problems.i have had luck with using a few ounces of Trans-X LSD additive mixed with Honda MTF or 10W-30 to help cover up a grind.

well Honda MTF or synchromesh with FM will be fine. However, if its an after market diff like a Kazz clutch type you're gonna need like 70-90 or 80-90 fluid
