Default washed car now i get a solid CEL

I already have searched...

I decided to wash my car around the time it was getting dark out, which was about 730 pm. I went to leave my house at like 9 pm and the car started for about 4 seconds and died. Went to restart it and it would run for a second and die. I noticed i was throwing a solid CEL. I threw in another good ecu and it did the same thing. I opened my hood and water was on like 2 connectors. I took my air gun and blew every single connector out and checked all of the grounds. Soo i called it a night and thought there was water somewhere. So i let it bake in the sun for about 6 hours today. Went to try it and it did the same thing. Today i checked all the fuses, wiring, connections, etc. I also swaped in another good ecu and still nothing.

Anyone have any ideas?

"a solid CEL" - meaning no code.

anything noticably cooked in the ECU?

I'm guessing this is in your EF, and it's boosted so it's chipped and tuned.
Did you swap the chip to the new ECU?
I'v had chips get messed up for no reason before, simply reflashing them fixed the issue.

Before making smartass responses read the TITLE of the post? SOLID CEL is basically a code for bad ecu.

Kyle seems like you took all the neccesary steps to drying everything off but your ECU is still getting a bad signal, could one of the connectors on the harness possibly have rusted or been disconnected? Which 2 connectors did you say had water on them? It may take a long time but I would reccommend disconnecting and reconnecting the plugs on your wiring harness possibly cleaning them off if one appears to be rusted. Whens the last time the car ran normally?

I took apart every connector and blew out every one with the air gun. My map sensor was all covered with water and so was the big white plug that connects the main harness to the engine harness. Everything is dry now. I didn't drive the car at all yesterday but the day before it was running fine on 20 psi. Ran fine for about 1500 miles now. I never usually wash my car cuz i never get it dirty. 2nd time i washed my car since i owned it.

I disconected my map sensor and reset the ecu and it still throws the solid cel.

I would go back to that main connector for the engine harness again, lots of pins in there lots of **** to go wrong.

Still have the injector resistor box? I don't know if that thing could fvck something up like this but I'm just tossing out ideas.

Even though it has nothing to do with the cel I would check fuel pump etc. anything in the fuel system. Fuel delivery problems usually cause a car to start and then die.

I changed the main relay and it was fine. Fuel pump kicks on like normal. Since its throwing the solid CEL thats why its not running. Something is wrong

you're an idiot. Has nothing to do with that.

Anyway while i was checking voltage on things i picked up my 2.5 bar map and it was really hot. I have been trying to figure this out with redzcstandardhatch on the phone and he things the wires are melted for the map sensor. Ima go run new wires right now.

well i pulled out my whole engine harness and it was fine. put it back in and with a stock ecu and it was fine. put in the chipped ecu and it fucked up. so i guess it was a bad ecu all along but its werid that the same stock ecu was doing it easier

hooray my new ecu is on its way and i think i can still go to dyno day tomorrow. Thanks for the help fella's.
