car alarm messd up?
My brother's civic hatchback has an alarm and he left the lights on one night and when he charged the battery the alarm didn't work anymore. Now the battery gets drained al;l the time for no apparent reason. Does anyone know what it can be or anyone with expirience on car alarms can come and check it out. Thanks in advance.
A batt. that has gone completely dead, may have warped its plates and they can short out so the batt. can no longer hold a charge, to test make sure it's charged, [will start the car] then disconnect the batt. overnight, reconnect in the morning and try and start the car, if the car starts it's a good bet the batt. is OK, and the problem is probably the alarm, disconnect the alarm, [unplug it overnight] and see if the batt. is still OK in the morning, you can also test for a draw on the batt. with a multimeter, also most shops the do batt./alt. will do a load/grav. check on your car for free, only takes a min.
