windshield install
it's easy to do but hard to do right, on shitty job, the windshield will not seat right and the silicone is all over the paint.
I saw someone did it before and it looks very easy but i don't think i want to try it myself.
btw, where else they sell windshield without haul away and installation now a day?

junk yards
...someone through a rock through the my dads windshield...******* punks...so he wants to pick one up at a junk yard and install it himself to save some $$

i changed mine before, its pretty easy but a little time consuming because if the windshield is cracked at all it almost always breaks into smaller pieces when removing. it is most difficult removing the lower corners (at least for me)
my advice- wear gloves

I replaced a windshield on an old car back in the late '80s. Well, I was going to, but the guy I asked to help me worked as a windshield installer so he pretty much just asked me to stand back while he did it.
As I remember...
1. Remove the trim.
2. Thread a piece of wire through the seal and with a guy on the inside, run it all the way around the windshield.
3. Pop off the windshield, clean the gunk.
4. Put down new gunk. As I remember, it was in a roll and you just put it down.
5. Carefully place the new windshield down, push carefully around the edges to seal it.
6. Replace the trim.
One other thing - when I went to a junkyard there were two different prices for the glass - one if I were to remove it myself (cash up front, if I break it it's mine) and the other if they were to remove it (but they would gaurantee that it would not be broken during removal).
And before going to a junkyard, call around to at least three different glass places, get the price on glass from them first. If it's a common windshield, you might be suprised at the price.

At my work, we call a guy and he does that kind of service. He charges 150 to remove or replace, or 250 to remove and later put it back on.
Honestly, from seeing him doing, I can tell isn't easy as some may think. It is actually easy to give up before finishing.

its easier said then done. its pretty hard. i dont reccomend you do it your self if you do not have experiance. reasons are.
the glass wont sit right. water might leak when it rain. usually when you get a used glass it has chipps on the side because of removal. my cousin use to install glass and it looks very easy but its not. too bad you are far from me or i could get you one for about 120 bucks
