Bought my 2nd bike!!!! 2001 F4i
Just called a guy from craigslist at 8:45 pm who posted it this afternoon, brought her home one hour later *after he agreed to accept my personal check - yikes!
2001 F4i - red/black color scheme - 2 up, 1 down gearing - new akropovaich exaust - new grips and bar ends (blah) - flush mount front blinkers - rear tail integrator - 7800 miles - NO SCRATCHES, mint condition, runs, starts, brakes etc like a dream.
$4200 - I'd say I got a pretty good deal.
I'll post pics when I get time.
(First bike was a 94 f2 purchased at the beggining of last summer - rode for 18 months - selling to a friend as a starter bike for 1500)
Talk about a totally different ride! I Was very cautious as it had no plates, so I didn't want to call for any trouble by riding crazy, but even still soooooo much better than the old bike. Throttle response, acceleration, smoother ride, better brakes, better turn in. The exaust is a little quite for my taste. I'm used to a 5 year old D&D that needed to be re-packed and back fired like an SOB during engine braking (I loved it)
The best part is the guy before the owner was an older guy and its quite obvious there was no hard riding on this bike (at least in the twisties) as there is about 80% tread left on the shoulders and 5% left in the center. You can tell the bike was just babied.
Another cool thing - although the ride is very different - its also very similar. I haven't ridden in about 3 months and it felt very comfortable riding this bike that I've never ridden. (not in a false sense of security way, just that I was able to let the clutch out and ride with nothing new to learn about the bike really)

Thanks guys! I have to work in 7 hours...but like I can really sleep right now????
Buying new toys is always so exciting!!!
To bad I can't really ride it anymore until I get another permit for Missouri and plates - boo

Haha...it's a nice offer, but I was planning on spending no more than 4000 in the first place, so 5000 is a bit out of my range.

i love my F4i. it's a perfect all around bike!
4200 is a deal considering what shape it's in! my F4i was kind of rescued from its previous owner haha jk

What are you waiting for. There's all kinds of bikes out there for 2000 or less.

3rd??? Who knows. I like the 2004-2005 R6 ravens...or the new triumph SS. I've always been partial to 7xx ducs - although the maintenance stories I've heard scare me.
