old school!
What was the sticker price of the Accord back in '87?
At that time I was in college and had just bought a '79 Plymouth Horizon for $600. Taught me a lot about fixing cars - before any trip I would literally have to plan for what I would do if (when) the car would break down, and remember this was before cell phones (though I still don't have one). But I remember that era of Accords - back then there was often a bad stigma associated with driving a foreign car, particularly a Japanese car, in areas dominated by union labor (US Cars Only signs, for example). For what it's worth, in '87 I thought the coolest looking car (that I could theoretically get) was the Baretta which was basically a 2-door Chevy Corsica.
Anyway, sorry for the rambling.
