Default h22a no butterflies

i can get a h22a complete head..i dont care for the vtec..this head will go on a f22a..besides the transplant...will leaving the butterflies off be bad for performance in the low end powerband??

i dont seem to have a problem with making power........and thats only after doing basic ignition adjustments. I could have gotten my torque graph flatter on the low end and a little better vtec crossover, but i decided to take the remaining time and learn more about tuning by starting with a shitty basemap instead of a good one.

Well, I have never had my car tuned nor dyno'd yet, but I could feel the difference. It almost made it feel doggish, or weak. I suppose though with tuning that would for sure help.

138 tq. don't you want to have more tq down low? or am Ijust talking non-sense. I thought leaving the IAB would help with torque on the bottom of the power-band.

If you were to walk out to a stock car with no tuning software or anything, and disconnect the IABs, it would be a dog down low and you know it. Where is your dyno graph while the IABs were plugged in ?

dont have one. I have a p28 and it has no problem getting up and going from 1500 rpms, even before the flywheel. No bogging anywhere. But yes, if there was no tuning involved to where you couldnt make up for the difference, there will be a decrease in low end power. How much? I dont know. It's not something i worry about.

98vtec i am running a p28 with s300 and i was wondering what you changed calibration wise to try and overcome the lowend drop

Hardly a direct comparison...

#2 has IABs, #14 has them deactivated. Installed but not active.

#2 was hondata for someone else's engine, #14 was crome tuned for me, and #14 has a more restrictive exhaust and a less restrictive intake. Blah, blah, blah. Don't look at anything past 4000rpm or so.

Hmm...interesting I like seeing exactly how the curves are being affected. Tuning really can alter otherwise predictable autonomus motor behaivior.

Wow, I unleashed the nerd. I don't even know if said that right.
