Hey,
I'm doing a D16Y8 on a D15b mini me head swap and have gotten many different answers to what dizzy I can use. I am doing the OBD1 swap and so I need to know which dizzys are compatable with that. I do have the Si dizzy for a 91 Civic in my Car already so will that work with the OBD1 or do I need a 92-95 dizzy? I know the D16Z6 dizzy doesn't work because of the offset legs. Do any 96-00 dizzys work or not because their OBD2? Please help me out, I've searched and talked to people already and I get different answers on which ones work and which ones do not.
So please set me straight... what are ALL the compatable dizzys for this swap? D16Y8 head, D15B block, OBD1 with P28 ECU.
Thanks
Lates, Davey

91 Si dizzy won't work.
The wiring on obd2 distributors is different than the obd1 versions. They can be used, but you have to be aware of the wiring differences.
I have a 1.5L non-vtec obd1 dizzy on my car right now. Bolts up to the y8 head perfectly.

So which car is that 1.5 Dizzy out of? I know the DXs work, but do the CXs or any others? And so all I need to do is rewire the 96-00 Dizzy to match the 92-95s? And the Y8 or non vtec dizzys out of the 96-00 will work?
Thanks for the reply.
