STI Brakes Front & Back On Civic Or Integra
Anyone know if it is possible to mount STI Brembo Brake Calipers, Front & Back on an Integra Or Civic? I know you would need to buy the correct rotors. Just wondering if this is at all possible?
Why would you even bother with that? Just buy the Brembo Gran-Turismo kit...
As for making it work, yes it is possible. Having seen a guy put a LS-2 V8 mated to an RX-7 rear-end and all stuffed into a prelude, I am a firm believer in the old addage "Anything is possible". As for your idea of having to buy the correct rotors, thats laughable.
It is also clear that you need to some research on brake systems in general. If you put STI brakes on a Civic, there is no way in hell your brake balance could be anywhere near optimal. Do some reading over at Stoptech.com in the tech & FAQ sections. They will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about brakes...

Whoa, A little Hasty here, the reason I ask is because I can get the full set off an STI for much, much less than the cost of the Brembo GT Kit. I am only trying to figure out if it can be done relatively easily, or if it would be a big waste of time to persue this further, If I 2,200$+ I would have bought the Endless Kit and not even posted this.
Brakes aren't as simple as bolting them on. The fact is it's all about brake balance. Changing things like rotor size, and caliper piston size (even lowering) all effect brake balance. This is why when you add a Brembo GT kit to a 350z, you actually increase the vehicles stopping distances. The reason is because the increased braking torque at the front of the car upsets this balance, and keeps the rear tires from doing the maximum amount of work possible. Without adding an adjustable brake proportioning valve, the initial performance of the system will suffer. Seems like a complete waste of money if you think about it from a performance stand point. If you want braking performance, then do the research like I suggested (stoptech.com). If you just want bling STI/Brembo calipers, then you may be on your own. As far as I know, nobody has done it so your in uncharted waters...
