Injen SRI with Si.... Issues
Hey folks, I got an injen SRI for my 06 Si a while ago, and while the fitment pretty much sucks, it was on , sounded loud as hell, and all in all was worth the 200$ from autoanything.
... Then after about 100 miles I broke the vibramount. it snapped off going down the road very liesurely.
So... After getting a replacement from injen for 10 bux, I mounted it with less strain on the mount.... And I got the shaking in the pedals people described when the filter is too far down.... Okay thats out =P
...After readjusting it so I didnt get shaking in the pedals... It broke off after another 100 miles or so.. I heard it snap off and fall out driving maybe 20mph thru a school zone during the first minute of my commute home from work. /boggle
I have looked around at various installed pics of this intake, and in all of the ones Ive seen, the elbow fits well.... crappy. Its either skewed on the TB, or off on the end where it fits to the intake pipe.
So I called autoanything about returning it and buying the Fujita/K&N that I shoulda got in the first place, and they said their going to send me out one more mount (for free this time at least) before taking it as a return.
Any suggestions on how to keep this one in the car? lol.
The intake is pretty oversized on the filter end.. Its like a 3.5" pipe, and it does sound loud as hell when you get on it, so I wouldnt mind if it actually stayed on. The elbow sucks.... but as long as its not actually leaking who cares right?(its formed rubber, not like the flexible silicon ones used in the fujita)
