Default ITB's...is it worth the money??

For all you guys rocking ITB's on your setups....was it worth the money? Trying to get some more power out of our setup and was debating on switching from our ported Type R manifold to a ITB setup...or maybe a big plenum manifold like JG's. Making good power on our little 1.8 setup, but could always use more. What do you think. Is the power worth the money?

i've had ITBs on a 1.8l motor. it was real nice but definitely not worth the money. my problem with them was that i had the motor in a CRX so i couldnt find a filter to put on. the car was tuned around sea level, and when i took it to streets of willow, depending on the weather and temperature, it wouldn't run right. a nice hot day, ran perfect. but when the temperature dropped down to 50 degrees, it ran like ***. i switched over to the JG manifold and i like it. the only thing is that i don't get power until 7k.. once i replace my broken header and retune it, hopefully things get better. good luck on whatever intake you choose.

I picked up a used set of TWM's for roughly $900 made about 19whp peak and near 25whp in the midrange. With no other changes other than going to 440cc injectors.

I should also mention the previous setup was an AEBS IM w/ a BBK 70mm TB...

My previous injectors were some MSD's rated around ~360cc

It wasnt the injectors.

That's pretty a pretty good power pickup for an all motor car.Especially for the deal you got.

The other thing is I'm debating getting them beacuse I heard next season that ITB's are not being allowed in S/P and Pro am All Motor. I'm afraid to invest and then have to go back because of the rule change. Hopefully I can find a good deal on a set somewhere.

You gotta think of it this way when asking if it's worth it... Do you think your setup will greatly benefit from ITB's? If the answer is yes, then it will probably be worth it, but you won't really know until you installed it and have it tuned to see what's going on.

Your right. Guess I'm gonna have to take a chance and see how this motor responds to them. Thanks.
