I want to upgrade my cams with the
DC5 Type R cams on my FG2.
I heard that replacing my cams ONLY
would be ok if I just shift at 8k normally.
What I wanna know is if the cams
would fit and if so, would anyone have
a good idea of how much HP I might
gain.

I thought the F20Z3 was able to handle 8600rpm stock as it shares most of the components of the K20 R motor.

 

I'm pretty sure the DC5 ITR cams aren't much larger than the FG2's stock pieces...?

Save up, buy a good complete valvetrain and some bigger cams.
