As title states,I came across a SOHC ZC head with intake and distributor and plan to use it to do the MPFI swap on my 89 hatch,I've done this swap before on my old 91 hatch but used D16A6 Si parts instead...are there any differences in the SOHC ZC intake like extra ports, sensors, etc that would cause any problems or is it identical to the Si intake?I searched but came up empty, thanks for your time!

Yeah I do believe the SOHC ZC cam has higher intake valve lift than the Si and DX/STD cams, the head and intake look identical to the D16A6 as far as I can tell.I'll post results when it gets done.

Not all those SOHC are created equal!!
Some came from egines that were carbed, less aggressive cam, and some came from the FI models.
Easiest way to tell the difference is by looking to see if the cast has an opening for the manual fuel pump used on carb models. You will need to make a block off plate to use.
Btw...my last d16z6 engine i swapped in a FI ZC sohc camshaft....i didn't ike it, the SI had a hell of a lot more top end.

Yeah my SOHC ZC head has a place for the manual fuel pump behind the distributor, but its blocked. And I thought a JDM head would be clean...this thing has caked on black oil all over the valvetrain, but the valves and combustion chambers look almost new, guess its that high octane fuel they run in Japan. It looks like somene **** all over it and then left it to dry in the Sahara

LOL......well, I went and did my homework on the A6 t oZC differences and the parts numbers from honda are the same on all parts in the head but the exhaust valves and the cam and springs on the exhaust. but all parts are completely interchangeable.
ZC kicks the A6 in the as as far as top end flow.
