Default Radiator Fan and A/C

Should the radiator fan running or not running have any affect on the A/C system?

I had a failed A/C compressor replaced only to find a small leak in one of the A/C lines. The shop replaced it and inserted dye to check for other leaks and there were none.

However, I told the shop I thought the system is functioning at approximately 80% of what it was before. The mechanic checked the system again and noticed the radiator fan cycling with the A/C on and he thinks it should run continuously. I questioned this and pointed out the A/C condenser is located beside, not in series with the radiator and has it own fan which IS running continuously when the A/C is on.

The mechanic maintained he has always seen the Honda radiator fan running with the A/C on...whose is correct?

More importantly, where in a manual (Helms, Chilton etc) can I find this and show it to the mechanic?

Thanks for the help!

Frank

there are 2 seperate fans. one for the radiator and one for the a/c. the a/c fan should be running all the time that the a/c is turned on. thats the way it is on my car. Iremember my compressor going nuts because it was being shut off then turned back on again really fast...turns out that it was the radiator fan ground that came loose. the people at honda said it was the compressor and it would be atleast $900 for them to fix it. turns out it was a free fix for me
