Hey guys, I'm new here. I just bought my Civic SI about 2 weeks ago (and already 1000 miles, jeez) and want to install head lights and tail lights. The head lights look to be very difficult, I wanted to start "easy" with the tail lights. After fighting with them for nearly 2 hours, I'm 100% that the rear bumper needs to come off. There is a small spot on the underneath of the tail light where it connects directly to the bumper. Has anyone removed their own bumper, or does anyone know how to do this? I'm sure I could figure it out but I'm looking for a degree of difficulty here. Also, I'm concerned about not being able to line it up when I put it back on. Can anyone provide some input on this?

Yeah I'm also in the market for some stock headlights, SI preferred.

 

When I took my front bumper off, it was pretty easy. There are a number of clips that need to be removed from the bottom and and 4 screws (2 around the top corner by the wheel and 2 at the bottom corner by the wheel). I am betting that the rear bumper is similar to this.

For the grill, remove the clips on the cover to get to grill. Then, use a hex key to remove the 2 screws. I think that is all for that bumper. Hope this helps you out.

 

Yeah I was able to install my head lights and tail lights by myself and they look sweeeeet. The LEDs in the head lights especially look good. And guys, I'm holding on to the stock parts just in case the after market parts crap out.
