Im looking at getting a 17x7" rim with a 42mm offset and wanted to know if that is a good combo for a 95 Civic ex with a 2inch drop?
I already have a set of 4 - 205/40 r 17 Tires

I have asked like 10 people and got no real answer if these tires will fit a 17x7" rim or not...

the will fit and tuck under the fender like they should.......and tires will be fine

Yes, 205/40/17's will fit the 17x7" rim fine.

I have personally ran 17x7" rims with a 40 offset and 205/40/17's on an EG hatch and had it lowered more than 2 inches and did not run into any problems. However, I now try to run 15's or 16's on the EG.

As for whether or not it is the best combo for your application, I will let NSXTASY comment on that.

 

that is the exact specs of my rims and tires, on a 94 hatch. the do not rub anything, and im dropped about 2-2.5 inches.
