Then make your radiator a priority over your intercooler. This is not rocket science. Increase airflow to the radiator and you'll run cooler. You've done that, but at the expense of structural integrity which is pretty foolish. I'm not sure what kind of turbo setup you're working with, but unless it's 16+ pounds of boost you don't need an intercooler the size of my front door.

smaller IC is probably ur only way...the integrity of ur rad support blows, if u hit something ur gonna loose so much $...just in the fact that the front end'll crumple like a tin can, u'll crush ur turbo system, fenders, hood, etc...

Smaller IC is all I really see...ur not running a lot of PSI for such a big one, that won't disrupt as much airflow to the rad...it'll run cooler then..

7 pounds doesn't even require an intercooler. If you insist on using one, get one small enough that it doesn't choke your cooling system. Head gasket > 5hp from your intercooler after the pressure drop of 7psi to probably 3psi. A damn shame.

I'm not sure which is funnier, the 7 to 3, or the damn shame part. Either way, you got me laughing.

show me an intercooler w/ that kind of pressure drop???? i agree, its too much, but BOOST level has nothing to do with it. wether it be 8psi or 20psi, if the turbo is in its efficiency range its not blowing much hot air and the intercooler can be downsized alot. i doubt you are loosing 3psi through your I/C though.

i dont see the structural integrity being altered much by the holes, they are spread apart a good bit, and arent HUGE.

I think it was a good creative solution to a problem.

Everyone is quick to jump on the integrity of the car is ruined but, he only put holes in it therefore the integrity change is minimal.

I live in Tucson, so I know what you're dealing with. You may have already tried it, but Water Wetter helps. You can get it at Pep Boys.

hondata manifold gasket doesnt seem to be the solution i agree with the person who said that there are more parts to be bought.. that and the fact that a smaller intercoler would help..

Wouldn't it take longer to get to cooler? It would be cool still.
