So my buddy has a 1978 Honda Hawk, not possitive on the size. He picked it up for about $580, and is doing a bit of work on it. i think i'll be able to pick it up for around $650-700. It will be my 1st bike and the bike that i will learn to ride on. Is it a good bike? good beginner? hopefully i can get some pics soon, but just looking for some starting info.... Thanks!

 

the auto? ehh... better off with some thing else. But if you can get it for less, say 500-600 your okay. I am torn, it is good to have a bike that is not o quick for a beginner, however... in motorcycling speed is life.

 

Take the MSF.

Invest in gear (helmet, jacket, gloves, boots)

Get insurance.

Good quality advice though.

 

Sell those Mugens and pick up an F2/F3.

I'd say go for it as long as it's problem-free. I think that'd be the worst, your first bike being something that keeps breaking down.
