you could get one from a junk yard but imo you would be better off paying someone to install a new one for you. it will be done right and it will be new undamaged glass.

i recommend letting a professional do it. first off it takes 2 people to install it. let them worry about centering it and applying the right mount of sealant. the last thing you want is a crooked, leaking windshield.

why do you ask? do have damage to it?

$170 doesnt sound that bad. Be careful were you get the glass from, there are different types of glass, some are really crappy, and will chip and crack really easy. Warranties are always good too. Dont go cheap on something important like your windshield, you will just pay more later

call your insurance company, and find out if that is covered. the state i live in, it's the law. the insurance company has to replace it free of charge (with no deductable) and it doesn't affect my premium. doesn't hurt to try, and it's free.

yes, i live in florida and that's the only thing the insurance co. are good for. it's the law for them to replace damaged windshields (had to 2 different occasions on 2 different cars). any thing else on the car raises my premium and i have a deductible.
