weird spark plug issue
The weirdest thing started happening on my h22 recently. Cyl 2 & 3 started getting little or no spark. To test if the problem was the spark plugs or something else, I moved the spark plug from cyl 3 to cyl 4. The problem moved with the plug. So I ordered new spark plugs. Shortly after running the car, cyl 2 & 3 started acting up again! Oh, I also replaced the cap, rotor, wires and coil in the process.
However, if I pull the spark plugs wires up about an inch, so that they are not fully depressed on the plugs, the spark is fine! So that's how I've been running the car now for several events! The two wires in cyl 2 & 3 are basically being held down by the wire cover. I did notice that when I first startup the car, I can depress the two wires and the car responds fine until it starts to heat up.
So what the heck is going on? Why are my spark plugs in cyl 2 & 3 getting damaged? Is it a heat or ground issue? It's like the wires are smothering the plugs. Thanks for any suggestions.
