IAB (A17) or ICS (A19) - Control Solenoid for VTEC
Working on friends car, Prelude Si was a H23 we put a H22A in it. Not sure if i should connect to the IAB (intake air bypass control solenoid valve) or to the ICS (intake control solenoid).
The ECU Pin # for each: IAB (A17) and the ICS (A19), the IAB has a Pink Wire at the ECU, and the ICS has a White wire at the ECU. The Sensor it self has a white wire.
Which one do i connect to and do i remove the wire from the connector or just splice the wire into that existing one that is there...

you should probably use the wire that was used for the ICS, the h22a still has the IABs so leave that alone. depin the ICS at the harness and move it over to the pin for VTEC.
Well in spot A19 on the harness, which is for the ICS there is already a white wire in the connector. so should i remove that wire or splice into it...
I already ran the vtec wires to the correct spots on the harness A4 & D6...
The solenoid that is by the intake manifold, vacuum lines go from the intake manifold to this solenoid (ICS (i'm assuming)) and then a vacuum line goes from the solenoid to the FPR...
So definately leave the A17 Pink IAB wire alone...

the solenoid on the intake manifold is the IAB, so run the IAB wire there
the ICS is the little solenoid way down in the resonator on the stock intake system, it opens a second valve inside....you can ditch that wire....

Ok so the solenoid on the intake manifold is the IAB and that White wire should connect to the A17 pin on the ECU... correct... there is already a Pink wire in the A17 spot, remove or splice in?
Then should i just leave the wire alone that connects to the A19 pin on the ECU...

We got a JDM H22A so we had to use the H23 Harness. There isn't a connector for that solenoid on the H23 harness, I don't recall that solenoid being on the H23 engine either...
i can only post up to 5 times because I'm a "nooby"... this is 4...
need to figure this out...
we are talking about the same solenoid right... its black and has two vacuum lines going to it... and this is the IAB solenoid...correct

the solenoid with the box on the underside of the intake manifold is the IAB
the solenoid mounted on top of the transmission mount is the ICS or whatever
it doesnt matter that you used the h23 harness, the h23 has both of these features also, like i said, the ONLY wiring changes you need to make to swap and h22 into an h23 car is wiring vtec, period

LIke mgags the IAB solenoid is on the bottom of the of the intake manifold connected to a black vaccum box.
i believe what you are looking at is the solonoid that goes in between vaccum and the fpr. its a jdm part that most people just throw out.
