I think any motor is capable of passing. Its a matter of how good the swap is done, how well it runs, and of course keeping all the smog devices on.

Yes, you can swap from any passenger vehicle, the same year or newer, and must keep all smog equipment fom the donor car. Passenger vehicle, as opposed to a "light duty truck", which includes the CRV and is why a B20 will never pass smog.

Doing the ls-vtec head swap is also illegal, you have to keep the head from the engine you take.

Motor doesn't have to be USDM, but there must have been an equivalent sold here. Meaning a JDM only engine (SR20det for example) isn't legal, but a JDM b18c is, since we had one sold here. I do believe that you have to swap over toi the USDM smog equipment though, so verify that before you take it as gospel.

Following that, you just call in and make an appointment with a ref, to get a smog check and engine swap tags.

isnt there something where if you have a honda (which includes 1.5L,1.6L) and you swap an acura(1.8L) you have to have everything on the engine swapped to that engines components?

ex. EG with a gsr swap. all engine stuff has to be from integra?
