Counting down (up?) to the 200,000 mile mark!!
Just wanted to let everyone know about the big event with my car. I will celebrate by taking a picture and posting for the pic ****** out there
as well as giving her a "major" tune up.
A little mechanical background of my car:
The motor is all original (no rebuilds), staying on time (as much as possible ahead) of all scheduled maintenances. I also warm the car up on every cold start.
Compression is still great and motor pulls like real hard (maybe more so due to ITR cams).
Upper driver side motor mount insert was recently replaced due to a rip (normal wear and tear i suppose)
Ignition coil was replaced over the weekend and the car felt a lot smoother and responsive afterwards (I think i shorted the coil out after messing with the cylinder 1 wire).
AC needs recharging.
Other than that, it's been running like a champ, seems stronger everyday.
I'm currenty commuting about 300 - 400 miles per week (school is a 35 mile drive each way M-Th), so reaching 200k will probably be some time next week.
So here is my thread inviting all those interested in seeing the "century mark x 2" roll by.
Stories about similar memories are welcomed as well.
EDIT:
Update on mileage:
Mileage is now up to 199,710 to finish today off!

When the car was below 100k, i did not want it to go any further, but after it hit, i wanted to see how far it can go; it's weird to want miles to rack up, but i guess after the 100k mark, it doesn't matter anymore. I'm very excited to see how long on the original motor it will last.

It'll be pretty tough for you since you're packing a pretty good number of horses in that block. LS turbo i'm guessing? But, then again, who knows? it's a Honda after all!

LOL...i guess you get to roll through the numbers a little faster than us USDM folks
Since I'm fairly bored and sleepless: 220,xxx KM = 136,7xx - 137,xxx miles (If my calculations are accurate).
Not bad
Question: do you guys in metric countries treat 100,000 KM as we treat 100,000 Miles? Or do you guys wonder the same thing? heh...the things i question when i'm bored

GSR turbo. I would turn up the boost, but with the high miles, you don't know what to expect. Since it is a daily driver, I don't really need the power and don't want to risk it.
Good luck in your quest. Now you will be working on getting it to 300k.

I hit 298K before selling my 94 Integra GSR Sedan....
Mechanical Background-
Original Motor and Transmission
A/C removed @ 292K for personal reasons
Head ported n polished @ 188K
I/H/E bolted on @ 125K
Lowered on H&R coilovers
Headgasket replaced @ 300K (by new owner)
Suspension Bushings replaced @ 255K
I loved every single mile driven in that car...so much that I ended up picking up another DB8 after selling it. LOL.
The current owner is a buddy of mine...still drives it hard...surpassed the 300K mark now. Its not too hard of a mark to hit, just have to do things FAR FAR away from home.

Doesn't burn any more oil than a normal GSR would (I do get the vtec bug often); It's about 1/2 quart every 2k miles.

Well I have 211k on my 95 LS and gonna keep her rockin. she runs great, did timing and pump recently it just may burn a lil more oil, i may have to add a quart after about 4-5 weeks, but than again, i usually put like 2-300miles on one weekend.

The motor is all original (no rebuilds), staying on time (as much as possible ahead) of all scheduled maintenances. I also warm the car up on every cold start.
Compression is still great and motor pulls like real hard (maybe more so due to ITR cams).
</TD></TR></TABLE>
Congrats. But there's no real need to warm the car up.Some actually argues excessive idling at cold engine temperature increases wear because of the low oil pressure at start up. Immediately driving after start will increase the oil pressure and assure oil supply.
I have 125k now....I am not sure if the head gasket and cylinder#3 (175psi) gonna make it to 200k. A rebuild is planned.

235K on my 94, all original engine internals and transmission. No mods under the hood. 100K on my current clutch and flywheel (may need replacement soon), currently on my 3rd timing belt. Just drove 385 miles on one tank of gas last weekend.
For 18 months I was commuting 700 miles per week
Bought it in June 2001 with 89K miles.
This pic was taken in April 2005. Since I moved into my house in November, my commute has gone from 100 miles/day to about 10/day

me? I've been using Valvoline MaxLife 5w30 for the past 130K miles or so, year round. No leaks whatsoever, burns maybe 1/2 quart if that much in 3000 miles.

it's amazing really that our cars can perform the same as a car with 25K. i actually like to brag that my car has 151K on it. whenever someone asks they're amazed its a high mileage car. 2 summers ago i worked with a kid who owned a zx2, and he would always argue with me about how his car was the same quality and reliability as mine. the car is now sitting in his driveway at 91K not working (granted he drove it very hard, despite my constant reminders that he cant treat cars like that). any time he'd try to say his car was just as good, i'd say "i'll see you at 200K". congrats on the future milestone!
176k on my car right now.
Original motor/tranny.
4th gear grind
Its on its second timingbelt/waterpump
Its on its original clutch
Second set of axles
Second Dizzy
Second Radiator
I need to get a compression test done, last time I changed my spark plugs cyl 3 had a tiny bit of oil on it. Other than that, my cam seal leaks like a siv so i go through a half quart every week and a half or so. I bought it at 124k and the last person who owned this car did NONE of the regular scheduled maintainence. With what i've got now i'll make it to 200k no problem. Past that i want a new tranny and just going to get a new LS motor and turbo it. Going to get my suspension and tan-black interior swap done before 200k.

lessee now... on mine I have replaced:
timing belt, water pump
radiator
pass. side fan
both axles
clutch and flywheel
alternator
ignition harness (original one fried at around 220K)
original exhaust header w/ another used OEM one, which needs replacing again
still on the original OEM cat, B-pipe, and rear muffler section
original O2 sensor also, but I might replace that soon.
I really need to replace all my suspension bushings, but I don't really want to do polyurethane, and OEM rubber is too expensive

well, 235K on my car so mine should be good info also
Previous owner used Castrol GTX until 89K miles.
Then I switched to Mobil1 synthetic (with no problems), but then switch to MaxLife at 105,000 because the Mobil1 was too expensive. Still no problems at 235,000.
