do i need an o2 sensor?
If you have the end of the wire from the sensor and the other end going to the ecu why not just solder them back together. And yes you need an O2 sensor since the ecu will be looking for a signal from it. Otherwise you will get a constant check engine light.
I do not have my O2 sensors plugged up at the engine and it runs a little stronger in my opinion. The only draw back is a check engine light sometimes but its just a lite, it causes nothing to happen to the car.
the O2 sensor(s) are there for a reason, get you some penetrating lubricant, the good stuff, not WD40. Also get you an O2 sensor socket from your local rip off parts store. Be careful sometomes when you force the sensor out it will pull the threads out of the pipe/manifold, then you're in trouble. Oh and another thing If you think your car runs better with no O2 sensors then something is wrong somwhere else, possibly you lack fuel pressure. In any case, the sensor should be hooked up. Also I do not reccomend soldering the wires that close to the sensor
an O2 sensor is very delicate despite its harsh operating conditions.
