well i am looking to get a skunk 2 exhaust for my ls. i was looking around and i found a guy who is selling his tanabe racing medallion for $125. From the sound clips that i heard and from what people say tanabe is a little too loud. I liek the way teh Skunk 2 sounds so thats why i want to get that. I was wondering if i get teh tanabe exhaust , take off the muffler, and put the skunk 2 muffler on it, it would sound like a skunk 2 than the original tanabe right?
and is the different piping size a problem or can that just be welded? Tanabe= 2.36 skunk 2=2.5

 

They are both 2.36" systems.

If you think the Tanabe is loud, you are in for a real treat with the Skunk2.

 

skunk2 is a bit loud from the cabin, i dont think its that loud from otuside though. you may have to get a diff/s2 resonator as well if your looknig for the same exact sound.

If it is loud from the cabin, it is twice as loud from the outside.

 

isnt the tanabe louder than the skunk 2? and the system is without a resonator. it's just piping up to the cat converter.
