I have 205/50 on some fat fives on my teg. Also the car is lowere on H&R Sport springs. Its time for some tires. I wasnt sure what size to go with, what guys do you think would be better and why? also if I put on 55, will the ride be better?

Default Re: Tire Size?? (Knight1)

I would NOT get 205/55-15. That's too big for an Integra.

Advantages of 195/55-15:
- Speedometer/odometer will be more accurate (205/50 will be off by 1.6 percent)
- Slightly better traction on wet roads
- Taller sidewall, slightly more comfortable ride

Advantages of 205/50-15:
- More choices of tires
- Some tires are less expensive (others may not be, so check)
- Slightly better cornering

The performance differences are very slight. The tire availability and price differences may be significant, and the speedometer error is a nuisance. I would check prices and if the tires you want are available in 195/55 and not a whole lot more money, I would get 195/55; otherwise, I would get 205/50. But it's really not a big deal either way.

For a detailed description of the very best summer tires available in both these sizes, click here. My post was written for the ITR forum but it applies equally to any Integra with 15" wheels.
